About the Friends
The Friends are a group of individuals who have an interest in the school. We are mainly parents/carers of pupils at the school but you don't have to have a child here to become involved.
We are a friendly bunch. Most of us didn't know each other before becoming involved in the Friends and have found it a great way to get to know people and feel part of the school community.
We usually meet on the second Monday of each half term from 6:30pm until about 7:30pm. We talk about the events that we organised in the last half term and we plan new events for the next couple of months. (Notes from meetings are available on the 'useful documents' page).
The Friends Committee is made up of:
Chair: This post is shared between Isabel Gilmartin (Mum of Georgina in Year 5) and Diane Olszewska (Mum of Amber in Year 5)
Secretary: Neil Smith (Dad of Holly in Year 5)
Treasurer: Helen McKeown (Mum of Zaki in Year 6)
At the next AGM (to be held in October 2016) the current committee members will be standing down. if you would like to help to support this vital organisation then please could you put your name forward by contacting Mrs Gilmartin at school. It would be very disappointing for the children to miss out on the fantastic Discos, Treats, Secrets' Rooms, Summer Fairs and the miss out on the benefits provided by the monies raised from these events.
You don't have to come to meetings to be involved though. We need lots of people to help out, for example, at events by selling raffle tickets, taking money on the door, selling food and drink, setting up the venue or clearing up afterwards (even just for half an hour), and we can always use more ideas.
If you want to be on the mailing list so you get copies of notes from meetings and more information about what's coming up please click here to get the 'contact form'.
