Welcome to the Year 3 Page

Mr Booth, Mrs Richardson, Mr Haan, Mrs Below

Welcome to our class page. Here you will find key dates for each term and will also be able to keep up to date with the exciting learning that has been taking place in our class. This term our key days are:

Weds: Swimming/ reading books changed/library books changed

Thurs: Homework due in (or to be completed on education city.)

Fri: PE / Homework given out (or assigned on education city.)

Children will take a comprehension task and change their reading books on a Wednesday, however, they may read with an adult in school on any day so it is important that children always have reading books and planners in school.

Could you please write in the children's planners when they have read at home. Planners will be checked weekly to ensure notes from home have been seen and signed by the teacher.

School starts at 8:50 and children have activities to complete in class from this time. Please try to ensure that children are in school before this time so they are ready to come in and start work at 8:50. Thank you.

End of Year Expectations

Spring Term

This term our topic is Saltaire Through The Ages. We will be looking at how life has changed in Saltaire starting before Titus built his mill, and following right through to the modern day to see what life is like in a world heritage site!

Our art topic is all to do with David Hockney, a local artist who painted many  views of Saltaire including several of the famous mill. In March we are looking forward to a class trip to Saltaire to immerse our selves in Victorian life in the village.

Our RE topic is 'Called to Change'. We think about how we are asked to say sorry and are forgiven for things that we may have done wrong. This is extremely important this year as some members of our class will be receiving the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Reconciliation for the first time.
